We invite all interested students from universities who are currently working on
their undergraduate or graduate thesis projects in areas related to the different
topics of Molten, to participate with their project in the VIII International
Conference on Molten Slags, Fluxes and Salts.
MOLTEN 2009 is organized to provide an international forum where mining
professionals may analyse and discuss recent innovations and developments related to
molten slugs, fluxes and salts. The objectives of this seminar are:
Identify the cutting edge technologies involving slags, fluxes and salts towards
metals production
Further the understanding of ionic liquids properties and their optimization
towards improved process efficiency
Provide a point of convergence of widely different areas such as metals
production, welding, glass industry and the like, to promote mutually beneficial
knowledge exchange
Provide a platform for international collaborators and virtual universities in
order to promote educational activities and facilitate industry-academia contacts.
